Yesterday was the first day school. Had AA201 seminar and BF212. AA201 is interesting and the tutor is funny and very good at using laymans terms to explain the concepts. 5/5 for this tutor. Applause!!!! Haha... BF212 tutor was a big contrast from the AA01 tutor. He teach very fast and only use the technical terms. This abit worrying because BF212 is extremely difficult subject. Mathematical methods for finance is no joke. We had a simple question for finding the future value after 25 years for depositing $100 in the bank now with yearly 3% compound interest plus bonus of $1 at the end of first year and $2 at the end of second year and so on and so forth. My working was summation of [$100(1.03)^n]+n where n is the number of years. But guess what the tutor's working was????? He did a extremely long working and it involved differentiation, differential equations to get to the answer. OMG!!! Its so tedious. And he said "this is an exam question.... in fact half of it..." The whole class almost fainted on the spot. And he carried on teaching stuff for seminar 2. OMG!!! What the hell is stacking of portfolio into matrices???? I never learn matrices in sec sch and JC lorz. And he said "this is nothing new... the maths we are doing here is nothing beyond 'AO' Level... we are helping to refresh your memory only... in this course you need to apply this maths concepts to finance." Faints faints faints... Haha... And we thought that financial management was difficult... BF212 is 10 times more difficult than FM... Cheers... I think i will spend ten years to do one tutorial. Haha... Okie... going to school for AA102 lecture liaoz.... Byes... Yeah tml no schoool because the lessons start on week 2. Wee~
